From networking to co-design, up to the “Bologna in Movimento” associations fair: in Bologna, Scambieuropei brought together organisations from the GaragErasmus network and local groups to turn ideas and meetings into new opportunities for European collaboration

The event

On 16–17 October 2026, Scambieuropei ets hosted Europe in Practice in Bologna, an initiative organised in collaboration with GaragErasmus as part of the activities of the Erasmus+ Alumni Network. The event brought together 20 members of the GaragErasmus network, creating a space for meeting and discussion dedicated to European opportunities and to developing new synergies between organisations.

Scambieuropei was represented over the two days by Matilde Pedergnana and Veronica Spena, both Project Managers of the association, who guided the representatives of the organisations through a programme designed to value the experiences of each group and encourage future collaborations.

Networking: getting to know each other to build new collaborations

The first part of the initiative was dedicated to getting to know one another. The participating organisations had the chance to present their work and some of their best practices, sharing the skills and experience they have developed in their respective fields.

This first exchange allowed everyone to learn more about the different organisations that make up the network, to identify shared interests and to highlight points of contact.

European funding opportunities

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the funding opportunities offered by European programmes, including Erasmus+, CERV, the European Solidarity Corps and Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, exploring effective ways to develop new initiatives at local and international level.

Co-design: from ideas to working groups

After the presentation and discussion session, the morning of 17 October was devoted to co-design. Through both formal and informal moments of sharing, the representatives of the different organisations were able to explore common interests further and discuss how to turn the ideas that emerged over the previous days into possible project proposals.

The result was a lively exchange, from which interesting proposals and working groups emerged, eager to develop new initiatives.

“Bologna in Movimento”: the associations fair

The afternoon of 17 October widened the scope of the initiative even further with the fair of associations and European opportunities “Bologna in Movimento”, held at Scuderia Living Lab, a co-working space in the heart of Bologna’s university district.

The event drew a large turnout, reaching many university students and other young people. In addition to the organisations already present at Europe in Practice, the fair involved numerous local organisations from the Bologna area, offering a space to meet, share opportunities and present pathways for mobility, training and international participation. This also helped to expand the event’s network of contacts.

The value of networking

Europe in Practice confirmed the value of spaces for meeting and collaboration for organisations working in youth mobility, international cooperation and, more broadly, European participation.

For Scambieuropei, organising this event meant helping to create connections that go beyond the boundaries of individual organisations, valuing networking as a tool to make European opportunities more accessible and to promote new forms of collaboration.
